Database Trial: ArtSTOR

The Cofrin Library is pleased to announce a new database trial. ArtSTOR will be available to the UWGB community from Monday April 3rd to Monday April 17th.

According to the ArtSTOR database,

"ARTstor's primary goals as an organization are:

To assemble image collections from across many time periods and cultures that will, in the aggregate, have sufficient depth, breadth, and coherence to support a wide range of educational and scholarly activities

To create an organized, central, and reliable digital resource that supports noncommercial use of images for research, teaching and learning

To work with the arts and educational communities to develop collective solutions to the complex challenges that are an inescapable part of working in a changing
digital environment."

To access ArtSTOR link to the ARTstor main web page and then link into the digital library: http://www.artstor.org/. On the homepage, you will see a link to "Search and Browse for Images" in the lower right hand corner. Click that text to enter the ARTstor Digital Library. To view a guide to getting started you can click the Help button in the upper right hand corner and select "ARTstor Help." No special passwords or user accounts are needed.

If you would like a higher level of access that will allow you to create folders and share Image Groups with students or colleagues you will need to upgrade your user account by selecting "Instructor Privileges Manager" from the "Tools" toolbar menu.
