Battle in the Heart of America: Wisconsin and the Black Hawk War

The Friends of the Cofrin Library and the Brown County Historical Society welcome Professor Kerry Trask on Thursday April 20th at 7pm in Mary Ann Cofrin Hall room 2008 for an exciting program on the Black Hawk War.

Based on his book "Battle in the Heart of America: Wisconsin and the Black Hawk War" Professor Kerry Trask will delve into the Black Hawk War and the violent events that took place in Wisconsin between the prosperous Sauk Nation and envious white American Settlers. In 1832, Black Hawk led 700 warriors across the Mississippi River from Iowa to Illinois to reclaim the rich farm land of the former Sauk nation settlement.
